High Moon Studios extend War for Cybertron with a more ambitious campaign, sumptuous cutscenes and an enlarged Autobot and Decepticon cast. The combat holds up, the multi extends longevity, and this is probably the best Transformers video game of a decade full of safe adaptations.

High Moon shows a planet in the act of dying: Cybertron is now a tangle of gutted walkways, ruptured pipelines and energon refineries whose vats glow red, under a sky black with particles. The robots themselves wear their age, dented plating, flaking paint, and their transformation displays part by part like a mechanism the eye can follow.
The score treats the Transformers as mechanical tragedy: low brass and heavy strings for the retreating Autobots, metallic textures and industrial rhythms for the Decepticons, and servomotor sounds woven into the orchestral fabric. The music steps back to let the transformation mechanism be heard, a sound effect that has been the franchise's signature for forty years.
The story tells of a defeat and an exile: the campaign alternates Autobot and Decepticon viewpoints up to the evacuation of Cybertron, and you know from the start that the planet will not be saved. The chapters devoted to Grimlock, transformed against his will, and to the loss of a beloved leader give this robot war a funereal register unusual for a toy adaptation.

Transformers - Fall of Cybertron (Xbox 360) price, value & rarity
North American (NTSC-U) edition of Transformers Fall of Cybertron, a High Moon action game hailed as the best playable adaptation of the robots, delisted from online stores when the license expired, which strongly raised the value of its physical copy. Its desirability rests on this status as a Transformers-game reference become digitally unavailable and a tenacious demand rather than a print scarcity. A coveted piece for franchise fans.
Is Transformers - Fall of Cybertron still worth playing in 2026?
Released in 2012 on Xbox 360, High Moon Studios' Transformers Fall of Cybertron tells the fall of the robots' home planet in an epic, polished third person shooter. Alternating control of emblematic characters, each with their own abilities and able to transform into a vehicle on the fly, brings real variety. The spectacular staging and the fidelity to the Transformers universe appeal to fans. The multiplayer, rich at the time, has shut its servers. But the campaign stays solid and generous. For fans of third person shooting and Transformers devotees, this title keeps a strong appeal today.
