A Taito action game where you knock out enemies with a hammer to stack and throw them. Original and fun concept, nice two-player mode. Overlooked but resolutely enjoyable.

1990 Famicom port of a Taito arcade classic in which two dwarves hammer enemies to convert them. A Japan-only release that never reached the NES, Taito's in-house conversion appeals to fans of its coin-ops and of enemy-converting platformers. An ordinary Japanese print run and a moderate complete price place the draw on the Famicom version's fidelity and the absence of any Western edition.
Is Don Doko Don still worth playing in 2026?
A Taito arcade platformer, Don Doko Don pits two hammer-wielding dwarves who stun enemies to lift and throw them, across colorful single-screen levels with joyful co-op. The hammer mechanic, the pace and the joy of two-player make it a charming arcade platformer, in the Bubble Bobble vein. The presentation stays simple and the formula familiar. A nice pick for fans of retro arcade platforming for two and lovers of Taito classics.
