The prison world is dressed in omnipresent signage: stencilled inmate numbers, announcement boards, administrative typography applied right onto the suits. White cells and concrete corridors contrast with the outside, where gigantic structures and the glowing cables of the thorn provide the only bright colours.
The soundtrack blends cold electronics and saturated guitars, with service announcements broadcast over loudspeakers that cut across the music and constantly recall the authority governing this world. The outside missions adopt a driving tempo, while returns to the cell drop the volume to let the hum of the facilities dominate.
The starting point rests on an absurd and chilling figure: being born owing a million years to the institution that holds you, and having to buy back every elementary right, lying down, walking more than a few metres, speaking to someone. The story uses that mechanism to question the value a society places on a human life.
