Never released outside Japan, Rendering Ranger R2 by Manfred Trenz and Virgin Interactive is one of the most technically ambitious shoot up run and gun titles on the SFC. The game alternates horizontal shoot up phases with on foot sections in R-Type Leo style, and pushes the palette with massive sprites and supple scrolling. The cartridge has become rare and pricey. No translation needed. An absolute recommendation for shoot purists, SFC tech feat hunters and Trenz post Turrican fans.
