Story
"Captivating"
Japanese countryside drowned in night, scanned faces of disturbing realism and rare light: horror is born from a chilling naturalism. The grain of the textures and the oppressive darkness settle an unease at every moment. This visual direction, austere and harrowing, cultivates a terror of rare harshness.

Collector interest

The Asian run of Siren, released in smaller quantities than the Japanese and American versions of this cult sightjacking survival horror. This regional release draws collectors attentive to the little-tracked local outings of an authored horror title. Its desirability rests mainly on this geographic scarcity.

An underrated gem

Seeing through your enemies' eyes to better avoid them: sightjacking underpins this Japanese survival-horror of rare darkness and difficulty, from the creator of Silent Hill. Its obscurity and abrupt challenge put the mainstream off. For anyone willing to get lost in it, it's a horror experience of unmatched intensity.

Is Siren still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 2004 on PS2, Sony's project signed Keiichiro Toyama, creator of the first Silent Hill, remains one of the most harrowing and demanding survival horror games ever conceived. The Sightjack mechanic, which lets you see through the eyes of the living dead to anticipate their patrols, turns fear into tense stealth where flight prevails over combat. The atmosphere of a cursed Japanese village and the story fragmented into multiple viewpoints leave a lasting mark. The merciless difficulty and stiff controls put off. A cult and radical work, recommended for fans of arduous horror and of oppressive atmosphere who welcome a real challenge.
