Collector interest

The original Super Famicom version of Super Bomberman 3, Hudson 1995, which introduced the Louies (rideable kangaroos). A Japanese source pressing with SFC cardboard box and spine card, the most widespread of the title. The appeal comes from the Louies system that became a series signature and from the standing of Bomberman multiplayer in Japan, where this entry, never released in the US, remains the reference for completing a Super Bomberman SFC set.

Better with friends

A third entry of the bomb king, refining its four-player battle mode with mounts and terrains full of surprises. The competition gains variety without losing its energy: you ally, you betray, you set off chain explosions that make everyone howl. Readable and unpredictable, it stays a staple of game nights, where each round renews the trash talk and the urge for an instant rematch.

Is Super Bomberman 3 still worth playing in 2026?

Super Bomberman 3 extends the formula with a roster of mountable secondary characters, including kangaroos and other companions offering special abilities, and a two player co op story mode. The handling stays identical and the four player multiplayer still progresses. For the most generous 16 bit Bomberman on solo and co op without abandoning the historical handling, probably the peak. Recommended for a varied Bomberman evening with a story mode worth playing.
