Is Super Robot Taisen R still worth playing in 2026?

Super Robot Taisen R gathers a new cast of anime mechs, from Combattler V to Gundam Wing, in Banpresto's grid-based turn tactical RPG. The solid strategic combat, the breadth of the roster and the spectacular animations carry on the series' strengths, without reinventing it. The language barrier and the length of the fights call for patience. Kept exclusive to Japan, it speaks above all to enthusiasts of giant robots and Japanese strategic RPGs, eager to broaden their exploration of the saga.
