Collector interest

A Tales-series action-RPG, praised for its real-time line-based combat and generous adventure, a well-liked entry of the franchise on the console. This Japanese version appeals to those wanting the title in its original language, in a much-followed line. Its local run sustains the interest of saga fans attentive to provenance more than extreme scarcity.

Is Tales of Eternia still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 2000 on PS1 in Japan and in 2001 in the West as Tales of Destiny II, Wolf Team's project offers a two dimensional action role playing game with a generous scenario. The Linear Motion Battle System, signature of the Tales series, gains real expressivity here and the cast installs an endearing dynamic. The anime art direction and Motoi Sakuraba's music keep their charm. The 2D modelling and some encounters have aged. Recommended today for action JRPG devotees and for Tales fans curious about the peak of the PS1 branch on Sony's first home console hardware globally.
