Collector interest

A highly regarded entry in the Tales of series, praised for its dense story on identity and redemption and its dynamic combat system, here in its Japanese and Asian edition. Its interest lies in its reputation as a peak of the saga and the lasting demand around this entry rather than scarcity. A piece sought by JRPG fans attached to the original version.

Is Tales of the Abyss still worth playing in 2026?

An action RPG from Namco, Tales of the Abyss unrolls an ambitious narrative on identity and fate, following a capricious heir forced to mature over an adventure with adult themes, carried by the particularly accomplished house real time combat. The depth of the combat system, the richness of the writing and the striking evolution of the protagonist make it one of the Tales series' peaks. The sometimes talkative pace barely tempers the whole. An excellent JRPG for fans of coming of age narratives and snappy real time combat.
