Is TimeSplitters still worth playing in 2026?
Released in 2000 on PS2 at the console's launch, Free Radical's project, founded by Rare veterans, brings back the spirit of nervous, arcade first person shooting inherited from GoldenEye. The game bets on fast matches, a jubilant split screen multiplayer mode and a map editor surprisingly complete for its time. The journey through varied eras, from past to future, and the offbeat humour install a light and fun identity. The absence of a fleshed out campaign mode and a limited artificial intelligence make themselves felt. A still enjoyable showcase of the PS2 launch, recommended for fans of arcade shooting and of couch play.
