"Anecdotal"
Hard to match such a selection: from Motörhead's "Ace of Spades" to hip-hop and ska, every track cracks at full power. The music sticks to the rhythm of the combos, turning the slightest session into a jubilant outlet. This cult assortment left its mark on a whole generation of virtual skaters.
Gameplay
"Masterful"
Linking jumps, grinds and manuals into a combo that never drops turns every course into a joyous playground of expression. The snappy controls and level design built for flow reward boldness and creativity. The formula evolved little from one entry to the next, but this arcade-skating thrill, immediate and intoxicating, remains formidably effective with a controller in hand.
Fun
"From the very first seconds"
Chaining grinds, jumps and tricks in pursuit of the longest combo: it all rests on this joy of flow and precision that quickly grows obsessive. The levels, built for chaining, brim with lines to discover, and the energetic soundtrack sets the mood. Immediate, addictive and stylish, an arcade skater that turns every session into a quest for the perfect score.
Complete: box, manual and disc/cart very clean. Lightly handled.

Collector interest
The Japanese version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, released under the local title Pro Skater 2003, the regional pressing of a peak of Neversoft's skate series in a market little drawn to the sport. This native edition appeals to those collecting the franchise in its Japanese guise, under a name rarely seen elsewhere. Its interest lies in this distinct regional title and a thinner local run rather than extreme scarcity.
Better with friends
Arcade skateboarding where you chain tricks and combos to pump your score, several in festive modes like H-O-R-S-E or trick attack. The competition plays out in style and risk-taking: holding an endless combo under your rival's eyes brings a heady tension. Accessible and heady, it turns every session into a one-upmanship of figures where you cheerfully rib each other at every wipeout.
Is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2003 still worth playing in 2026?
Released on PS2, Neversoft's project extends the Pro Skater line at the peak of its formula, built on chaining combos by exploiting ramps, rails and reverts in open levels of overflowing generosity. The feel of the glide, the precision of the controls and the richness of the objectives sustain a gameplay loop of rare addictiveness. The punk and hip hop soundtrack and the arcade spirit keep all their bite. The repetitive structure from one entry to the next shows for those playing the series back to back. A safe bet of the skateboarding game, recommended for fans of scoring and of chiselled gameplay.
