Japanese horror by Hifumi Kouno and Hudson, chilling phone-based atmosphere where mobiles ring from beyond the grave. Abandoned houses, vengeful spirits, atmospheric puzzles, fragmented narration. No direct combat, you flee or you pray. Remarkable audio, Wiimote rumble used for shivers. Uneven difficulty and sometimes confusing progression, but guaranteed scares for J-horror fans.

Is Ikenie no Yoru still worth playing in 2026?

A Japanese horror adventure from Chunsoft, Ikenie no Yoru plunges a group of visitors into a haunted mountain building where they must survive a menacing presence. The title uses the remote as a flashlight and motion detection to search and react to apparitions, in the line of Japanese narrative survival games. The oppressive atmosphere and staging work, but the untranslated Japan exclusivity closes off access. A curiosity for fans of Japanese horror and atmosphere driven games.
