Rockman and Forte is a late Japan only Mega Man, demanding and dense. For hardcore blue bomber fans, hard but exciting.

Dazzling 2D, animated cutscenes and colourful settings: the game modernises the series with a lively, polished cartoon aesthetic. The fluidity of the sprites and the richness of the hues overflow with energy. This visual direction, joyful and crisp, illustrates the graphic peak of the Blue Bomber in 2D.
Bringing together Mega Man and Bass, the game deploys a nervy, melodic electronic score of great richness, cut for two heroes of distinct styles. Each stage pulses with a galvanising energy faithful to the series' excellence. This sonic generosity confirms Capcom's unequalled craft in chiptune.

Choosing between Mega Man and Bass, with their distinct styles, to cross demanding levels and steal bosses' powers: this last 16-bit hurrah for the blue robot pushes the challenge far. The precision of the jumps, the wealth of weapons and the secrets to find grip veterans. Snappy, tough and generous, an action-platformer built for fans of a challenge.
Complete: box, manual and disc/cart very clean. Lightly handled.

A 1998 Capcom Super Famicom release, Japan-exclusive on original cartridge, one of the last big official Super Famicom titles. The cart is culturally important as Rockman's 8-bit/16-bit farewell on the Famicom format and lets players play as Forte for the first time as a main character. Intact boxed CIB with cardboard sleeve and illustrated Capcom manual has become a grail for completionist Rockman/Mega Man collectors, and the cote climbs hard.
Memorable bosses
A tougher variant of the classic series, this entry lets you choose between Mega Man and Bass, whose double jump and mobile fire reshape how you approach each guardian. Robot Masters with weaknesses to exploit, multi-phase machines and an imposing mechanical king punctuate a markedly raised challenge. Two play styles and crafty bosses give these clashes a flavorful replay value.
Is Rockman & Forte still worth playing in 2026?
Never released outside Japan in its SFC form, Rockman & Forte is the last entry in the classic Mega Man branch on the system, namely a Capcom platformer where Rockman and Forte are alternately playable, each with distinct movesets. The difficulty is markedly harsher than its predecessors, and blueprint collection is mandatory. A fan translation exists alongside the GBA port. Recommended to fans of demanding classic Mega Man and to Capcom completionists.
