Sequel to Tales of Symphonia GameCube, six years after the merger of the two worlds. Emil and Marta, new protagonists, surrounded by first-entry heroes. Real-time multi-line Tales combat, capturable monster companion system, dark vengeance scenario. Wiimote or Classic Controller, generous fifty-hour runtime. Good sequel for fans, decent Wii presentation. Less epic than the first but more mature.

Is Tales of Symphonia - Dawn of the New World still worth playing in 2026?

An action RPG from Namco Bandai, Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World, released in Japan as Ratatosk no Kishi, is the direct sequel to Tales of Symphonia, following a tormented young man and his bond with a mysterious creature, through the series' real time combat system enriched with a monster recruitment mechanic. The return to this beloved world, the snappy combat and the creature collecting win over fans. The reuse of settings and a divisive hero split opinion. A good game for fans of Japanese action RPGs and the Tales series on Wii.
