An underrated gem
Classic in form but polished in execution, this JRPG unfolds a heroic quest carried by a soundtrack surprisingly memorable for such an obscure title. Never translated and put out by a little-known publisher, it got lost in the crowd. For fans of old-school 16-bit RPGs hunting for a forgotten treasure, it's well worth lingering over.
Is Dual Orb II still worth playing in 2026?
A more accomplished sequel to Dual Orb, this little-known JRPG from I.G.S. extends its fantasy world with a new cast and refined turn-based combat. The top-down exploration and staging stay classic, but the whole is solid and well paced for a title that never left Japan. It mainly speaks to hunters of Super Famicom gems willing to go through a fan translation, who will find an honest, endearing RPG if not a revolutionary one.
