Deploying demons and heroes across sprawling grids turns every map into a long engagement where patience rules, all the more so since enemies are numerous and stubborn. Recruiting new demons through negotiation, leveling them and shaping your army demands constant investment between battles. As the first tactical spin-off of the SMT saga, this demanding title keeps a reputation as a slow but deep strategy game that rewards perseverance.
Complete: box, manual and disc/cart very clean. Lightly handled.

A questionable morality
Recast as a strategy game, the principle comes down to summoning an army of demons you deploy across the grid like plain units, ready to sacrifice them without a second thought when tactics demand it. You plan your moves with a general's detachment, these creatures negotiated one by one gradually shrinking into interchangeable pawns pushed across the board.
Is Majin Tensei still worth playing in 2026?
A tactical spin-off of the Megami Tensei saga, where turn-based battles play out on a strategy grid, with demon recruitment and fusion. The blend of managing a demonic party and tactical placement has character, despite rough difficulty and austere production. The dark mood faithful to the series wins over the initiated. Best kept for fans of Japanese tactical RPGs and the SMT universe, patient and able to read Japanese.
