French/PAL version of the DBZ Idainaru game. Same base gameplay, same spectacular accessibility. Interesting to have French text for French-speaking players. Localization curiosity for European collectors.

The edition released for France and Spain keeps the animation-like rendering, but all its dressing changes: titles, selection screens and interfaces adopt the typography and the names broadcast by the local television versions. Finding those familiar spellings around an unchanged Japanese production is the visual interest specific to this release.
The Japanese score is kept in full, which creates a singular contrast for the local audience: the names shown on screen come from the dub broadcast in France and Spain, while the themes heard are those of the original version. That combination, common at the time, now makes this edition a precise witness to localisation practices.
Translating this story meant choosing between two sets of names: those of the locally published comics and those of the television dub, often different for one and the same character. The edition keeps the appellations familiar to French and Spanish audiences, which makes the run through the sagas immediately legible to anyone who followed the show.

Is Dragon Ball Z - La Grande Legende des Boules de Cristal still worth playing in 2026?
A Dragon Ball Z fighting game from Bandai, Idainaru Dragon Ball Densetsu gathers over twenty anime characters in team clashes on a pseudo 3D playfield, where you chain combos, energy blasts and spectacular special attacks faithful to the series. The dynamic staging, the two on two system and the fidelity to the manga make it one of the era's best DBZ games, celebrated by fans. The system stays accessible. For a retro versus fan, a Dragon Ball fan or a collector, the title keeps a remarkable spectacle and energy.
